I studied documentary and storytelling in Chicago. During that three years, I have been working and learning with the first class of documentary producers and artists, my work has been nominated multiple times to BEA, CPA and Emmy. My projects “A Hundred Square Feet” and “Vote” has won the 2021 Crystal Pillar Emmy Award.

Hi, I’m Warren – an independent Photographer, Director and
Filmmaker.

I got my first camera from my Dad when I was 16 and started taking photos since then.

I love sports, traveling, animals, coffee and telling stories. My love for portrait started with Xinyao and mastered my skill with her over the years.

As an lifestyle photographer, I gain energy from observing happiness and positive communication, which I consider as a huge advantage as a photographer, because I shall truly enjoy our time together and direct you effectively.

Photography is a highly collaboratively work, I am not here as a service provider but an artist who wants to document a piece of your life through my vision. Let’s make arts together.

Hi, I’m Xinyao! I’m a full-time marketing specialist on weekdays and Warren’s assistant – Free labor on weekends. You will see me at weddings, and mini sessions helping with videography, set up and lighting. I also help Warren with basic marketing (For example, building this website right now :)) Outside of works, i love to do pottery, painting and reading books.

About us

Warren and I met in our first year at college, more precisely, in the first freshman student orientation. We started dating in the fall and stayed in each other’s life till day – we witnessed each other’s late teenage years and learned how to be kind, responsible young adults together.

I finished college in three years and applied to a master’s program in Pittsburgh, while Warren finished his senior year and studied film and media in Chicago. We have been through 3 years long distance relationship, and finally, Warren moved to Pittsburgh in 2021, and we got engaged during the trip to NYC in 2022.

我和warren从留学生涯的第一年相遇，一起读书，毕业，再分开读书，异地恋，各自毕业，又一起留美工作。说起来也只是茫茫北美留学生中的一员，跌跌撞撞阴差阳错的走到了今天。

接摄影客单对我们俩来说是挺值得期待的一件事情。毕业之后交朋友的机会急速下降，反而是warren开始做自由摄影之后，让我们有了更多的机会去认识不同圈层不同职业的朋友们。在这里也浅浅期待一下之后认识更多可以一起吃火锅打麻将一起玩的朋友们！
